How can balancing your feedback come a long way

Last week in my workshop on Leading Others, one insight stood out:


“Feedback is not about fixing people, it is about helping them grow.”


And indeed, research by psychologist John Gottman shows that relationships thrive on a 5:1 ratio, five positive interactions for every one corrective one. Teams are no different. Not about sugarcoating, but about balance.
