Boasting or Owning?

Last month, I coached a brilliant woman in her thirties aiming for her next promotion.

She had embraced visibility—but focused only on her clients, thinking her manager already had her back.

Big mistake.

In our session, we asked:

“Who else needs to know about your impact?”

That’s when it clicked.

Her manager didn’t make the decision alone—his peers had a say.

Suddenly, the pool of stakeholders grew… and she had no direct line to them.

But she had something else: satisfied clients.

With a few adjustments, we turned their success into influence—by ensuring their feedback landed with the right ears.

Visibility isn’t boasting. It’s owning your story—and getting it where it matters.

Who else needs to know what you bring to the table?
