Last Thursday, I had an incredible opportunity to help out at the TEDx event "Where Change Begins," and got a sneak peek behind the scenes at the Octogone Theatre in Pully. It was an eye-opening experience, showing me how every little detail matters for the success of such a big event. 🎭
The organizing team even let us attend a masterclass called "The Secrets to delivering truly engaging presentations." as well as talks in turn. While I was mainly there to help and couldn't catch all the talks or mingle much, the bits and pieces I did see were truly rewarding.
Here's what stuck with me:
👁️ Jumping Into Stories: Chris talked about grabbing your audience's attention by diving straight into your story, making them feel like they're right there with you. It's a powerful way to connect right from the start.
💬 Tackling Prejudices with Emotion: Marine Tanguy's talk on prejudices touched hearts. She showed that sharing personal stories can challenge our views and make us think differently.
👥 Watching People Come Together: Seeing how everyone behaved—some breaking rules, some reluctantly following them, and others feeling entitled—was a lesson in itself. It reminded me that understanding and guiding such diverse behaviors is a key part of leadership.
This experience taught me a lot, especially about the "heart work" that goes into success. It's not just about doing your job; it's about putting passion and effort into everything, which truly takes you further.
So, to my fellow project and team managers, how do you see "heart work" playing a role in your teams? How does it help you lead better and achieve more?
Let's chat in the comments! Your stories of passion and hard work are what inspire us all to do better.
PS: Never underestimate the power of caring about the small stuff. It's what leads to big successes. 🌈
