🌟 How Networking Changed My Career Path

A few years back, I was finishing a program and starting to look for new opportunities. In November, I noticed an interesting project in another department at my company and decided to reach out. Unfortunately, the manager never responded. I tapped into my extensive network, including HR, but no one knew much about the project or the manager.

Months passed without any leads. Still interested in the project, I decided to try again at the end of January. This time, the manager replied almost immediately. Was it the tone of my message or the time of year? Either way, we began to connect, and

I learned more about their work. Initially, I thought the project wasn't for me, but I offered help by providing contacts and suggestions.

Our relationship grew over the next few months.

By July, as their program expanded, the manager reached out and suggested I apply for some of the jobs they were posting, believing I would be a good fit. I learned about the opportunity early on and, after going through a stringent recruitment process, I made it to the end. I took the job and ended up working with the best manager of my life.

This experience taught me the power of persistence and the value of building genuine relationships through networking. It wasn’t just about finding a job; it was about connecting, offering value, and being open to opportunities.
